Pirate
& Princess Party

Pirate
& Princess GuideMap
Close your eyes just for a second and imagine walking down Main Street
USA, up toward Cinderella’s castle in your most beautiful flowing
dress with a tiara placed delicately on your head. Imagine for one
day, truly feeling like a Disney princess….even at the age of 27!!!
And now imagine Captain Eric Sparrow walking beside you, every bit
a pirate!!
This was exactly my experience on February 1st at Disney’s Pirate and
Princess Party at the Magic Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom transforms
into even more of a land of fairy tales and imagination than it already
is. You enter in clouds of smoke and are handed a black velvet bag
to collect your treasure, and a map to guide you to each spot where you
collect the treasure (marked of course by an X). There are
Princesses and Pirates everywhere of all ages, shapes and sizes!!!
We took the boat over to the Magic Kingdom from the Wilderness Lodge
(after a carriage ride and an amazing birthday surprise fit for a
Princess from my very own Pirate….but more on that in the trip report)
A little girl turned around on the boat and told me I was the “best
Princess”. It was so cute!! And every little boy
looked at Eric and said “there’s Jack Sparrow!” What
fun!!!!!
We arrived and walked through the entrance into a land of pirate
adventure and princess
fantasy. For whatever reasons, the P and P party was not crowded
at all. One of the reasons, I assume is that the parties are on
weeknights and that many people don’t know about them yet.
Everywhere you looked there was a Pirate Tutorial or Dance Party or
Princess Meet and Greet. The Parade was amazing with a huge new
pirate ship float and lots of Princesses and Pirates and even an
appearance from our favorite fairy, Tinkerbell!

The first thing we did was to go and get in
line to meet Capt Jack Sparrow. Due to his popularity this line
was quite long but well worth it. We got some great pictures
and honestly any Princess loves a chance to meet the one and only
Capt Jack Sparrow. He even addressed me as “Elizabeth”
and then he tried to steal my crown….but I guess he saw that I
had a brave, fierce pirate of my own by my side so he didn’t
take it.

After our exciting meeting with Jack Sparrow
we decided to ride a couple of rides. We got a really neat picture
from the Buzz Lightyear ride and we had to ride my favorite…the
TTA (aka the People Mover).

By this time it was nearing the fireworks so
we made our way to the castle, stopping to take a few photos along
the way.

We even got a great picture in front of Cinderella’s magic carriage (it
was before midnight so it hadn’t turned back into a pumpkin
quite yet)

The fireworks are narrated by the Fairy godmother, the three fairies from
Sleeping Beauty (Fauna, Flora and Merriwether), King Tritan and
Captain Hook. There is also an appearance of Tinkerbell who
saves the castle from the evil Captain Hook!
The fireworks were absolutely awesome!!!!! I LOVED them and
even though nothing is quite like Wishes, these came pretty close.
I must say I was very impressed.
After the fireworks, we made our way to Toontown where there were
many Princesses to meet. We met Cinderella and Prince
Charming, Princess Minnie, Aurora, and Princess Daisy.

It was really fun and made for some great
pictures. Minnie wanted Captain Eric all to herself….I
think she even wanted to take him home!!!!!! What would
Mickey have said????

By this time Pirate Eric was getting some very sore feet and it was time
to head back to our castle (the Wilderness Lodge). I would
recommend the Pirate and Princess Party to anyone who loves to
experience Disney Magic and is a true child at heart!!
