When should I go?
One of the most popular questions I get is when is the best time to go to WDW and I always respond with whenever possible. This answer is a bit deceiving though I really don’t mean as often as possible but whatever time suits you best. Some people only go during the very slow seasons. While others for many reasons can only go doing the higher season. Either time is fine its just each comes with certain risks and rewards. Lets start with just the facts. The months with the smallest crowds are January, February (except presidents week) and the week after thanksgiving till the week before Christmas. March (except for spring break), September, October, and November (except thanksgiving week) are below average. April, May, and Memorial Day weekend give you the average crowd. With the summer break months of June, July, August, and the Week of thanksgiving and spring break bringing in above average crowds. Finally the largest crowds being the week of Christmas and New Years. Another factor to consider is the weather. At certain times of the year it can be very hot or rainy. While we cannot guarantee the weather, we can give you the monthly highs / lows and average rain fall. To see historical weather see below. Most people would opt to go during the slow season with fewer crowds and shorter lines. Others prefer the higher seasons, usually for the weather and the fact that most attractions are open during the higher seasons. Sometimes during the slower seasons attractions and water parks are closed for refurbishment. Some due to work or school have only set times they can visit. My favorite times to visit are May and October. With May schools are still in and the weather is nice enough for swimming and its not overly hot. October has slightly less crowds then May but the weather can be cool especially later in the month. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas can be a great time as well. While the weather is a bit chilly at night the Christmas decorations (put up the weekend after thanksgiving) are a sight to see. I hope this gives you a start on finding the time that suits you best. Just remember when ever you go let the inner kid out and have a great time in this magical land. Even in high crowds high heat and bad weather remember your in DISNEY relax and enjoy.
